Hello!! I'm Silvia, from Mi Mundo Scrap. If you want to make a special gift for a Communion or, as in my case, have a nice memory of that special day of your child, I bring you a very simple tutorial with the Communion and chipboards papers of Kora projects.
Consiste en un cubo de madera con varias fotos desplegables y, en la parte superior, una decoración voluminosa. En este caso, muuuuuchas flores, como le gusta a mi hija pequeña.
It consists of a wooden cube with several collapsible photos and, at the top, a voluminous decoration. In this case, maaaaaaaany flowers, as my little daughter likes.
Como no conseguía encontrar cubos de madera, me acerqué a mi carpintero del barrio y le pedí que me cortara unos cubos como este, de una medida aproximada de 8 x 8 cm.
As I could not find wooden cubes, I went to my neighborhood carpenter and asked him to cut some cubes like this one, measuring approximately 8 x 8 cm.
A mi hija le encanta el decapado, por lo que me he decantado por esta técnica para la base. Damos a todas las esquinas del cubo una primera capa de pintura Chalky en un color chocolate.
My daughter loves pickling, so I opted for this technique for the base. We give all the corners of the cube a first layer of Chalky paint in a chocolate color.
Una vez seca la pintura, para decaparlo, utilizamos la técnica de la vela. Consiste en rallar con una vela, de las que tenemos por casa, las zonas donde queremos que se vea el color más oscuro.
Once the paint is dry, to remove it, we use the candle technique. It consists of grating with a candle, of which we have at home, the areas where we want the darker color to be seen.
Aplicamos un par de capas de pintura con un color de contraste, en este caso blanco.
We apply a couple of layers of paint with a contrast color, in this case white.
Esperamos a que seque y lijamos las zonas donde hemos aplicado la vela. Quedará a la vista la pintura oscura, dando un efecto muy bonito.
We wait for it to dry and sand the areas where we have applied the candle. The dark paint will be visible, giving a very nice effect.
Si se desea, para sellar y proteger la pintura, le damos una capa de barniz.
Y empezamos con la decoración. Recortamos 6 cuadrados de papel de algo menos de 8 x 8 cm. de la bonita colección Mi Primera Comunión - Niña de Kora projects y rascamos los filos.
If desired, to seal and protect the paint, we give it a coat of varnish.
And we started with the decoration. We cut 6 squares of paper of something less than 8 x 8 cm. from the beautiful collection Mi Primera Comunión - Niña from Kora projects and scratch the edges.
Si se desea, cosemos con la máquina de coser los bordes del papel.
If desired, sew the edges of the paper with the sewing machine.
Decoramos 4 de los 6 papales. Luego os enseño con más detalle como lo he hecho yo.
We decorate 4 of the 6 pawns. Then I show you in more detail how I did it.
Para la parte superior del cubo decidí incluir un montón de flores en la misma gama de colores que los papeles. Para ello, pegamos en el centro varios cuadraditos de chipboard de 1,5 x 1,5 cm.
For the upper part of the cube I decided to include a bunch of flowers in the same color range as the papers. For this, we paste in the center several chipboard squares of 1.5 x 1.5 cm.
Sobre éstos ponemos un cuadrado de chipboard algo más pequeño que la base y forrado con el mismo papel. Repetimos la misma operación hasta conseguir 3 niveles.
On these we put a chipboard square somewhat smaller than the base and lined with the same paper. Repeat the same operation until you get 3 levels.

Empezamos a colocar las flores, de distintos tamaños y colores, así como hojas troqueladas con cartulina blanca y algunos pistilos.
We began to place the flowers, of different sizes and colors, as well as sheets cut out with white cardboard and some pistils.
Para acabar, damos pequeñas pinceladas de Glitter Paste de Bo Bunny.
To finish, we give small brush strokes of Glitter Paste by Bo Bunny.
