Soy Myry de Fils et Papiers, y hoy os traigo un tutorial sobre cómo hacer un álbum masculino cuando no tenemos material de dicha temática, aprovechando los colores de los papeles y varios chipboards y sellos.

It's Myry from Fils et Papiers and today I gonna show you how to make a masculine mini album without "masculine" supplies using colors of the papers, chipboards and stamps.
Para hacer este mini álbum usaremos el álbum de 20x20 con las tapas de madera y hojas de 300gr; la colección de papeles “Cozy Winter”; de manera opcional, cartulina kraft de 300gr, diferentes chipboards (paneles, fondos, marcos...) y los sellos de la colección “Magic Day”.
For this mini album I will use 8"x8" mini album with wooden covers and 300gr sheets, "Cozy Winter" paper collection, optionally, kraft cardboard (300gr), different chipboards (panels, backgrounds, frames...) and “Magic Day” stamps collection.

También usaremos tinta negra "Versafine" y "Vintage Distress"; cintas de colores oscuros o neutros; 2 brads, 1 charm, 1 eyelet, 1 turn mount, 2 clips y algunos die-cuts. Herramientas para cortar, plegar y pegar y, de manera opcional, una troqueladora de esquinas para foto y máquina de coser.
I will use "Versafine" black ink and "Vintage Distress"; dark or neutral colors ribbons; 2 brads, 1 charm, 1 eyelet, 1 turn mount, 2 paper clips

Antes de desmontar el álbum, medimos el ancho del álbum para poder realizar las estructuras.
Recordemos en qué orden van colocadas las tapas y las hojas para su posterior montaje.
So, before dismantling the album measure the width to be able to make the structures.
Remember in what order the covers and the sheets are placed for their later assembly.
Vamos a escoger qué papeles podemos usar, así será más fácil decidir el número de páginas que haremos. Yo he descartando los que tienen motivos navideños y reservado el de las casa para decorar.
Choose what papers you can use so it will be easier to decide the number of pages to make. I've discarded papers with Christmas motives and reserved the houses paper for fussy cutting.
Yo voy a hacer un álbum de ocho páginas, dos de ellas pegadas en las tapas y, aunque las hojas son de alto gramaje, las otras las haré dobles pegando una hoja con otra. El resto de hojas las usaré para hacer las estructuras alternando con la cartulina kraft.
I'm going to make eight pages, two glued on the back covers and the other ones doubles, glueing sheet with sheet. The rest of the sheets I will be used to make the structures alternating with kraft cardboard.
Recordemos colocar correctamente el sentido de los agujeros para que al pegar hoja con hoja no nos equivoquemos y acabemos con una página al revés.
Primera página:
Vamos a hacer un flip en forma de medio círculo con las medidas
Remember to correctly place the direction of the holes so that when glueing sheet with sheet do not make mistakes.
First page:
Vamos a hacer un flip en forma de medio círculo con las medidas del siguiente dibujo:
Make a half circle flip with these measurements:
Pegamos la pestaña del semicírculo detrás de nuestra hoja.
Situamos en el semicírculo un trozo de papel de scrap de 11'5x14cm y los elementos que vayamos a usar para decorar. Cubrimos la parte trasera del semicírculo con un trozo de papel de scrap. Hacemos un desplegable de 8'5x29'5cm y plegamos a 7'5cm; situamos el chipboard que nos interese y lo pegaremos todo; para cerrar el flip usamos uno de los clips.
Glue the tab of the semicircle behind the sheet and glue a 4 1/2"x5 1/2" piece of scrap paper and all the decorative elements in the semicircle. Cover the back of the semicircle with a scrap paper. Make a 3 3/8"x11 5/8" accordion fold and score at 2 15/16"; put the chipboard where you want and glue everything; use one paper clip for close.
Podemos pegar un sobre ya hecho o hacerlo con una hoja de 16'2x29'2cm. Yo he optado por hacerlo en blanco y cortar sólo los trozos que serán visibles, y usar sellos, chipboard, die cuts y recortes de papel de scrap para decorar la página.
You can use an envelope or do it with a 6 3/8"x11 ½" sheet.
I've make it and cut only the pieces that will be visible. I use stamps, chipboard, die cuts and scrap paper to decorate the page.
Para cerrar tanto el sobre como el flip usamos el eyelet, un brad y dos cintas de 40cm y 45cm para cerrar la página y una de 45cm para el sobre.
Use the eyelet, a brad and two ribbons of 15 3/4" and 17 3/4" to close he page and one of 17 3/4" for the envelope.
Sólo pegaremos esta hoja detrás de la portada cuando las tapas estén terminadas.
NOTA: La encuadernación será algo especial. Yo voy a cortar la línea de agujeros pero recomiendo no cortar hasta que veáis como será para poder decir cómo lo queréis hacer.
Only glue this page behind to the cover when it's finished.
NOTE: The binding will be something special. I'm going to cut the line of holes but I recommend you not to cut it until you check how it will look like in order to decided how do you want it.
Segunda página/Second page
Cortamos un trozo de cartulina de 14x14cm y lo plegamos a los 2 y 2'3cm por la parte de arriba para hacer una pestaña con un poco de volumen; cortamos dos trozos de papel de scrap de 7'5x11cm, una de 11'5x13'5cm y otra de 16'5x18cm.
Cut a 5 1/2"x5 ½" piece of cardboard and score at 13/16" and 1/8" on the top to make a tab with a little space. Cut two pieces of 2 15/16"x 4 5/16" scrap paper, one of 4 1/2"x5 5/16" and another of 6 1/2"x7 1/8".
Organizamos en la hoja todos los elementos decorativos antes de pegarlos junto con el trozo de papel de scrap más grande. Luego pegamos el trozo de cartulina y cubrimos la pestaña con el trozo de papel de scrap mediano. Los dos trozos pequeños los pegamos en la cartulina junto con el resto de elementos decorativos. Recordad no pegar la parte del chipboard que vaya a quedar encima del sitio para la foto para que ésta entre sin problemas.
Put all the decorative elements on the sheet before gluing them together with the largest scrap piece. Then glue the cardboard and cover the tab with the middle scrap piece and put the small pieces too with the rest of the elements. Remember not to glue the part of the chipboard that
will be on top of the site for the photo so that get in without problems.
Tercera página/Third page
Cortamos un papel de scrap de 18'5x30'5cm y plegamos a 12'7 y 12'9cm a un costado. Rasgamos el papel a lo alto y reservamos ese trozo. Cortamos dos trozos de cartulina de 7x11cm.
Cut a 7 5/16"x12" scrap paper and score at 5" and 5 1/16" on one side.
Rip the paper up and reserve that piece. Cut two pieces of 2 3/4"x4 5/16" cardboard.
Empezamos a situar todos los elementos y los pegamos antes de empezar con la parte trasera. El otro trozo de cartulina lo pegaremos de manera que cubra la parte trasera del otro trozo.
Con el trozo que teníamos reservado creamos un bolsillo.
Cortamos dos trozos de cartulina de 12x12cm y 9x13'7cm, éste lo plegamos por la mitad. Y para cerrarlo usamos el otro clip y el charm, pero lo guardamos abierto en el bolsillo.
Put where you want all the elements and glue them before starting with the back. Glue the other piece of cardboard so that it covers the back of the first piece. Make a pocket with the piece that you reserved. Cut 4 11/16"x4 11/16" and 3 9/16"x5 3/8" pieces of cardboard and score them in half. For close it use the other paper clip and the charm, but keep it open in the pocket.
Una vez tengamos todas las estructuras, cortamos dos cintas de 35cm, las cosemos o pegamos a la hoja y luego pegamos nuestra página.
Once you have all the structures finished, cut two ribbons fo 13 13/16". You can sew them or glue them to the sheet. Finally glue the page to the sheet.
Cuarta página/Fourth page
Vamos a hacer otro flip con un papel de scrap de 18'2x20'5cm, lo plegamos a 2 y a 2'5cm por la parte de arriba y rasgamos la parte baja. Cortamos dos trozos de cartulina de 7'8x9'6cm, unos trozos de chipboard y diferentes elementos decorativos, y lo vamos colocando todo en su sitio hasta que nos guste el resultado.
Make another flip with a 7 3/16"x8 1/16" scrap paper, score at 13/16" and 1" for the top and rip the lower part. Cut two pieces of 3 1/16"x3 13/16"cardboard, some pieces of chipboard and other decorative elements, and put them where you like.
Detrás del flip pegamos cuatro trozos de cartulina de 7x9cm y decoramos la base de la página con restos de papeles, tags, chipboard...
Behind the flip glue four pieces of 2 3/4"x3 9/16" cardboard and decorate the base of the page with remains of papers, tags, chipboard...
Quinta página/Fifth page
Con un papel de scrap de 15x20cm vamos a hacer un bolsillo abierto por un sólo lado para un tag de 13x18cm. Yo lo he cosido en la hoja pero podéis hacerle pestañas y pegarlas.
Make an open pocket just for one side with a 5 15/16"x7 7/8" scrap paper for a 5 1/8"x7 1/8" tag. I've sewn it on the sheet but you can make tabs and glue them.
Cortamos otro trozo de 10'5x14'8cm y lo pegamos encima del bolsillo pero dejando un trozo sin pegar; tendremos otro mini bolsillo un mini tag de 5'5x9'5cm. Encima pegamos un desplegable de 11x29cm y lo cerramos con el turn mount y el otro brad.
Cut a 4 1/8"x5 13/16" piece and glue it on the pocket but leave a space without glue for another mini pocket for a 2 3/16"x3 3/4" tag. Then glue a 4 5/16"x11 7/16" accordion fold and close it with the turn mount and the other brad.
Sexta página/Sixth page
Vamos a hacer un panel con un trozo de papel de scrap de 13x22'5 y plegamos a 2 y 2'2cm tanto por arriba como por abajo para crear unas pestañas con volumen. Hacemos un tarjetón con cartulina
de 17x25'7cm, lo plegamos por la mitad y decoramos sólo el lado que vaya a quedar fuera del panel.
Make a panel with a 5 1/8"x8 7/8" piece of scrap paper and score at 13/16" and 7/8" both above and below to create tabs. Make a large tag (6 11/16"x10 1/8") with cardboard, score it in half and decorate only the side that will be outside the panel.
Decoramos también el panel con dos cartulinas de 8x10'5cm, restos de papeles, chipboard...
Also decorate the panel with two pieces 3 3/16"x4 1/8" cardboard, scrap papers, chipboard...
Séptima página/Seventh page
Vamos a hacer un frame flip para dos fotos. Cortamos un trozo de cartulina de 22x12'8cm y lo plegamos a 2 y 2'5cm por la parte de arriba. Luego cortaremos la siguiente figura en papel de scrap:
Make a frame flip for two photos. Cut a 8 11/16"x5 1/16" piece of cardboard and score at 13/16" and 1" by the top. Then cut these figure on scrap paper:
Una vez hayamos cortado los círculos y doblado las pestañas, lo centramos y pegamos en la cartulina. Si no queréis que se vea la cartulina a través de los círculos podéis pegar papel de scrap antes de pegar el frame. Una vez terminado pegamos el flip a la hoja.
Once you have cut the circles and scored the tabs, center the frame and glue it on the cardboard. If you don't want to see the cardboard you can glume scrap paper before glue the frame. When you finished, glue the flip to the sheet.
Detrás del flip pegamos dos trozos de papel de scrap de 7'5x10'5cm. Cortamos otro trozo de 17'5x19'5cm y pegamos encima dos trocitos de cartulina de 6'5x7'2 y uno de 10x13'5cm.
Glue two pieces of 2 15/16"x4 1/8" scrap paper behind the flip. Cut another piece of 6 7/8"x7 11/16", two pieces of 2 9/16"x2 13/16" of another of 3 15/16"x5 5/16" cardboard; glue them on the scrap paper.
Última página/Last page
Para la última página cortamos dos trozos de cartulina de 13'5x14cm y los plegamos a 2 y 2'5cm para hacer una pestaña al costado. Cortamos un trozo de papel de scrap de 17'5x19'5cm y situamos los trozos de cartulina encima como una ventana. Para decorar yo he usado un par de sellos y el chipboard del mapa callejero partido en dos.
For the last page cut two pieces of 5 5/16"x5 1/2" cardboard and score them at 13/16" and 1" on one side. Cut a 6 7/8"x7 11/16" piece of scrap paper and put the pieces of cardboard as a window. To decorate I used stamps and street map chipboard cut in half.
En el interior hacemos un bolsillo de 8x19'5cm dejando un margen de 2cm en la base y 1cm a los lados. En el interior del bolsillo irán varios tags de diferentes medias.Para el cierre cortamos dos cintas de unos 35cm y las cosemos o pegamos a la hoja.
Make a pocket of 3 3/16"x7 11/16" leaving a margin of 13/16" at the base and 3/8" at the sides.
You can keep some tags inside. Now cut two ribbons of 13 13/16" and glue or sew them to the sheet.
Una vez hecho ésto podemos pegar la página a la hoja y sólo pegaremos esta hoja detrás de la portada cuando las tapas estén terminadas.
NOTA: Recuerda, la encuadernación será algo especial. Yo voy a cortar la línea de agujeros pero recomiendo no cortar hasta que veáis como será para poder decir cómo lo queréis hacer.
Then you can glue the page to the sheet but only glue this behind to the back cover when it's finished.

Portada y contraportada / Cover and back cover
Vamos a pintas las tapas con pintura acrílica negra, blanca y tres tonos de azul (yo usaré los tonos purpúreo, puro y cerúleo); barniz, papel de lija, esponja y pincel, y purpurina. Lo primero será comprobar si las tapas necesitas una lijada antes de pintar.
Use acrylic paint: black, white and blue (I use purple, pure and cerulean shades of blue); varnish, sandpaper, sponge and brush, and glitter. First, check if the covers needs a sanding before painting.
Vamos a poner unas buenas gotas de pintura y difuminamos la pintura con la ayuda de la esponja haciendo un degradado.
Put some paint drops doing and blur the paint with the help of the sponge making a gradient.
Una vez difuminado nos mojamos los dedos con agua y acabamos de esparcir los colores. Ésto es opcional pero me encanta cómo queda. Antes de que seque la pintura echamos purpurina.
Now wet your fingers with water and just spread the colors.
This is optional but I love how it looks. You can throw the glitter before the paint dries.
Una vez seco salpicamos con la pintura blanca.
El último paso será barniz la superficie para proteger la pintura.
Once dry, splash with white paint. The last step will be to varnish the surface to protect the paint.
Recomiendo acabar de decorar después de encuadernar el álbum.
Once the varnish has dried, repeat the same process from the back covers.
I recommend to decorate the cover after binding the album.
Yo voy a hacer una decoración muy sencilla con estos chipboards:

Casas estrechas

Voy a pintar las casitas, detrás pegar acetato de color amarillo
y detrás cartulina blanca para que se vea el amarillo.
I'm going to paint the little houses, glue from behind a little piece
of yellow acetate and then glue white cardboard to show the yellow.
Encuadernación / Binding
Podéis hacerlo de dos maneras; la más sencilla es volviendo a meter las hojas y las tapas en el wire y pegar las páginas que quedaron a las tapas (si dejáis los agujeros éstos deberán coincidir con los de las tapas).
Yo he decidido hacer un lomo y ocultar el wire.
You can do it in two ways. The simplest is to put the leaves and covers in the wire and glue the pages that were left to the covers (if you don't cut the holes they should match the ones in the covers).
I prefer to make a spine and hide the wire.
Primero metemos las tres hojas ya hechas juntos con dos más "en blanco", una al principio y otra al final.
First, put the finished pages with two "in white", one at the beginning and one at the end.
Para hacer el lomo juntamos las hojas con las tapas y medimos el ancho que tiene el álbum, en este caso 5'5cm. Cortamos un trozo de papel de acuarela de 300gr de 15'5x20'5cm, hacemos dos marcas a 5cm de cada lado y plegamos el interior de esas marcas a 5mm.
To make the spine put the leaves together with the covers and measure the width of the album, in this case 2 3/16". Cut a 6 1/8"x8 1/16" piece of watercolor paper of 300gr, make two marks to 8 1/4" of each side and score inside to 3/16".
Cortamos dos cintas de 43cm y las pegamos por la mitad de cada tapa (a 10'5cm). También las podéis coser o grapar si tenéis la aguja adecuada o una grapadora especial para perforar más de 5mm de grosor.
Cut two ribbons of 16 15/16" and glue them in the middle of each cover (at 4 1/8"). You can also sew or staple them if you have the proper needle or a special stapler to drill more than 3/16".
Join the covers leaving the space of the spine, center it well and glue it, let dry for a few hours.
Una vez seco podéis pintar tanto el exterior como el interior del lomo con los mismo tonos que las tapas. Si queréis colgar algún charm al lomo ahora es el momento de hacerlo. Una vez seco situamos el wire justo en el centro del lomo y procuramos situar las hojas blancas cubriendo las pestañas del lomo. Haced varias pruebas comprobando que el álbum se abre bien, que está centrado... sólo pegad las hojas a las contratapas cuando estéis seguros de que todo está en su sitio.
You can paint the spine with the same tones as the covers. If you want to hang some charm is time to do it. Once dry, put the wire right in the center of the spine and try to it the leaves "in white" covering the tabs of the spine. Check many times as you need that the album opens up well, that it is centered... Just glue the leaves when you are sure that everything is in place.
Ahora sí podemos pegar las últimas dos páginas y acabar de decorar nuestra portada.
Y ya tendríamos acabado el álbum.
Now you can glue the last two pages and finish decorating your cover.
And we would have finished the album.
Ya veis que con unos chipboards y jugando con los colores de los papeles podéis hacer un álbum temático, en ese caso para chico.
